I've got a 17 year old home in CA with some aluminum windows failing (seals, condensation, broken locks etc).

Been thinking about vinyl - we have a very mild climate. I understand Low E and Argon and will go with that, but what is some of this other jargon?

I've got 10 window openings with slider windows. Does each piece of glass (2 per opening) count as a 'window' (ie 20 windows), or does the whole unit count (10 windows)?

Screens are included in these prices, right?
How much work is there after the install? Will I need to repaint inside or out?

I also have 3 unique arch-top windows which are not connected to the others which I plan on leaving - no issues with that, right?

Do you work in CA ;-)
