Deonte Sheffield is a freshman grey shirt or possible blue shirt out of Destin, Florida. Basically, the 3* out of high school in 2017 will be a part of the team this year, participating in all practices, but cannot play and does not count against the scholarship total. Sheffield was a last minute addition for the Noles recruiting class.

Kyle Meyers saw a good bit of time in the defensive backfield as a true freshman in 2016. He finished the season with 17 tackles and 3 pass breakups. Meyers, a 4* out of high school, is in the running to start at the Star or Field Corner position for the Noles in 2017 and will most certainly be on the filed a good bit in the defensive backfield. Meyers previously wore #37 and has just switched to #14.
