#33 – Kevin Haplea
Tight End – 6’4″ 247 lbs – RS Senior
Kevin Haplea returns after missing all of last season with a knee injury. Haplea was transfer from Penn State that played in 13 games for the Noles in 2012 catching 3 passes for 15 yards and a touchdown. The touchdown was a critical one during the game against South Florida with the Noles up just 13-10 and extended the lead to 20-10. While he didn’t impact the passing offense with great numbers, Haplea is an excellent blocker on the edge and allowed the FSU offense to feature more two tight end sets with Nick O’Leary. During his year off the field, Haplea made an impact at FSU off the field. In 2013, he helped start a chapter of the Uplifting Athletes organization at Florida State. Uplifting Athletes is a non-profit organization that raises awareness and funds for under-served diseases. Just a few weeks ago, the Noles football team participated in a Lift for Life event at the FSU Indoor Practice Facility and raised around $3,000 for the Kidz1stFund, the organization established by Jimbo and Candi Fisher for the research of Fanconi Anemia. Their son, Ethan, is inflicted with the disease and to date they have raised more than $1 million for research.
