#40 – Bobby Jackson
Defensive Back – 5’11″ 185 lbs – 1974-1977
Bobby Jackson was a outstanding defensive back for the Seminoles in the mid-70s. Out of Albany, Georgia, Jackson earned a starting spot in the secondary almost immediately after stepping foot on campus. He picked off two passes as a freshman while also leading the team in punt returns including a punt return for a touchdown. As a sophomore, Jackson would lead the team in interceptions with 5 while continuing to be a force in the secondary as an aggressive hitter. For his career, Jackson finished with 10 interceptions, the second best career total at the time of his graduation. He was elected into the FSU Hall of Fame in 1993. Jackson was drafted by the New York Jets in the 6th Round of the 1978 NFL Draft and spent 8 years with the Jets playing in 95 career games and making the 1978 All-Rookie team.
