#39 – Bill Dawkins
Two-Way Lineman – 5’11″ 196 lbs – 1948-1951
Bill Dawkins was a two-way lineman out of Miami at the dawn of Florida State Football. Hard hitting and tough, Dawkins was the first player in Seminole history to be selected to a post season All-Star game in 1951 playing in the North-South and Senior Bowl games. That season he was also named a 1st Team Little All-American by the AP. Dawkins was elected to the FSU Hall of Fame in 1983. After graduation, Dawkins returned to Miami and became a respected high school football coach.
