#41 – Lorenzo Featherston
Defensive End – 6’7″ 220 lbs – Freshman
Lorenzo Featherston is a weakside defensive end that looks more like a small forward. With amazing height and a wingspan that earned him the nickname “the human condor in football pads” by ESPN, Featherston has a frame that can add a lot of muscle mass. He has great athleticism to go along with that frame, but certainly needs to add weight and get stronger to make an impact at the collegiate level. For this reason, I think he ends up a redshirt candidate in 2014. That’s certainly not to imply that he isn’t talented, though, as Featherston was ranked as a 4* by 247 Composite and the 12th ranked weak side defensive end in the nation. He was also the top ranked player out of North Carolina by ESPN. At one point Featherston was one of the top ranked prospects in the nation regardless of position, but he missed most of his senior year due to injury and tumbled down the rankings.
