#44 – DeMarcus Walker
Defensive End – 6’3″ 273 lbs – Sophomore
DeMarcus Walker came in and made an impact right away as a freshman in 2013. In fact, he earned a start in his very first collegiate game against Pitt on the road. Walker came in as an early enrollee, but that his participation in spring was derailed by an NCAA Clearinghouse issue. Despite that, he was able to learn out there with the team and hit the ground running in the fall. While he would only start 2 other games through the season, he appeared in 12 of the 14 games and finished with 18 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, and a sack. This year, he should battle for playing time at end. With his size, he could possibly spell Mario Edwards, but he’s athletic enough to play the “jack” type position vacated by the departed Christian Jones.
