#56 – Sterling Palmer
Outside Linebacker – 6’7″ 251 lbs – 1989-1992
Sterling Palmer is a massive human being who helped make up one of the great linebacking corps in FSU history in 1992. During that ’92 season the Noles featured Marvin Jones, Derrick Brooks, Ken Alexander and Sterling Palmer. In the beginning, the plan was for Palmer to contribute right away, but he injured his foot early in the season. After redshirting in 1989, Palmer made a solid contribution over the next 3 years making 24, 44, and 37 tackles respectively while tallying 8.5 sacks during that time. ring the ’92 season the Noles featured Marvin Jones, Derrick Brooks, Ken Alexander and Sterling Palmer Palmer left Tallahassee after his junior season and was selected in the 4th Round of the 1993 NFL Draft by the Washington Redskins. He 44 games over the next 4 seasons, but his career was derailed by knee injuries.
