#57 – John Nance
Nose Guard – 6’2″ 270 lbs – 1989-1993
John Nance was the man in the middle for the Noles during their National Championship 1993 season. During his sophomore season in 1990 he played inside linebacker and contributed 21 tackles while seeing limited action. He redshirted this following year and returned as a redshirt junior in 1992 along with a move to the center of the defensive line. He excelled the next two years making 60 and 62 tackles respectively in 1992 and 1993 all the while holding the center of the defense and allowing outstanding linebackers Marvin Jones, Derrick Brooks, Ken Alexander, etc roam free to stifle opposing offenses.
