#75 – Cameron Erving

Offensive Tackle – 6’6″ 302 lbs – RS Senior

Cameron Erving came into Florida State has a 3* defensive tackle and spent the first couple of seasons in Tallahassee trying to carve out space for himself on the defensive side of the football.  Three factors came into play though and it was time for a switch.  First, an embarrassment of riches on the defensive side of the ball combined with a lack of bodies, and quality players on the offensive side of the trenches.  Then there is just the eye that Jimbo Fisher has for positional moves.  It’s turned out wonderfully for both Erving and the Noles.  Last season, Erving won the Jacobs Blocking Trophy as the top OL in the ACC and was named to numerous 1st and 2nd Team All-American lists.  With quick feet and excellent athleticism for a man of his size, he is able to handle quicker defenders well (see: Beasley, Vic) but has the size and strength to match up with larger bull rushers as well.  He enters his senior season a two year starter and primed to be a 1st Round draft pick in the NFL next spring.
