#81 – Zeke Mowatt
Tight End – 6’4″ 240 lbs – 1979-1982
Zeke Mowatt struggled to stay on the field early in his career in Tallahassee battling injuries. He played in just one game as freshman and 3 games as a sophomore before missing the rest of the season after the October 11 game against Pittsburgh. He finally begun to make more of an impact as a junior when he caught 13 passes for 126 yards including making a catch in the last 6 games of the season. He 1982 Mowatt caught at least one pass in 10 games and finsihed with 22 catches for 209 yards and 2 touchdowns. One of his touchdowns was a 6 yard reception at Ohio State to give the Noles the lead for good in a 34-17 victory at The Horseshoe. Mowatt would go on to have a long career in the NFL. He was signed as a free agent in 1983 by the New York Giants and 8 of his 9 year NFL career with New York. He caught 135 passes for 1,765 yards and 12 touchdowns playing in 118 games including the 1987 Super Bowl. He enjoyed a career best year in 1984 with 48 catches for 698 yards and 6 touchdowns.
