#89 – Christian Green
Wide Receiver – 6’2″ 207 lbs – RS Senior
Christian Green came in with a lot of hype as an excellent athlete that was a raw wide receiver. As a redshirt freshman in 2011, Green showed some flashes of his ability catching 26 passes for team third best 450 yards. He almost completely disappeared the following season making just 3 catches for 33 yards despite playing in all 14 games. He made a slight rebound last season with 13 catches for 157 yards, but Seminole fans were still waiting to see the now veteran wide receiver break out. Well, it’s now or never for Green. Struggling to grasp route running and some of the nuances of the wide receiver position, combined with some bad luck (errant passes, missed blocks on screens) has Green almost an afterthought at the position. With the losses of Kelvin Benjamin and Kenny Shaw, however, it’s important that Green makes a bigger impact in his last season. While it seems evident that Green will never quite live up to his athletic promise, a season comparable to his redshirt freshman campaign would be a welcome contribution.
