#90 – Eddie Goldman
Defensive Tackle – 6’4″ 314 lbs – Junior
I have a hard time believing that Eddie Goldman is already going to be a junior, but then again, it’s hard to believe that Timmy Jernigan has already come and gone. Goldman was a force out of high school that was a consensus 5* recruit and one of the top DTs in the nation. He played immediately as a freshman showing some promise, but not exactly making a huge instant impact. Last season he started 13 games and saw extensive action in a couple of spots in the Noles hybrid defense. Goldman really came on throughout the year and was playing some excellent football toward the end of the year. Although he may not quite be as noticeably dominant physically at times like Jernigan was, Florida State fans should enter 2014 with confidence in Goldman from game to game.
#90 – Derrick Alexander
Defensive End – 6’5″ 282 lbs – 1991-1994
Derrick Alexander was a dominating defensive end for Florida State in the early 90s helping some of the best defenses in FSU history excel. Alexander made an early impact playing in 10 games a redshirt freshman, but exploded as a sophomore in 1993. Totaling an almost unheard of 100 tackles as a defensive end, Alexander was named to numerous All-American teams while helping the Noles to their first ever National Championship. He followed that up with another All-American season. He left after his Junior season with 212 tackles and 12 sacks. He was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the 1st Round of the 1995 NFL Draft with the 11th overall pick. Starting 67 games over a 5 year career, Alexander productive with 227 tackles and 20 sacks in his NFL career. Alexander was elected to the FSU Hall of Fame in 2007.
