Connell Spain was a 6’2″ 285 lbs NG/DT out of Melbourne, FL from 1992-96. Spain contributed for 4 straight years after redshirting the 1992 season. After good seasons in 1994 and 1995, Spain really exploded for the Noles with 46 tackles and 7 tackles for loss on a defense that was one of the best in Florida State History. After the 1996 season, Spain was presented with the Crenshaw Award. This award is presented annually to the “player with the biggest heart”.
