Rhett Dawson
Rhett Dawson was a 6’2″ 185 lbs wide receiver out of Valdosta, GA. Dawson really came on in 1970 as a junior after struggling through injuries in both his freshman and sophomore seasons. He had seven 100+ yard games his last two seasons and averaged 58 catches and 881 yards over this two excellent seasons. In 1971 he was named a 3rd Team All-American by the AP. In 2006, Dawson was elected into the FSU Hall of Fame. He was selected in the 10th Round of the 1972 NFL Draft and spent two seasons playing in 16 total games.

Jackie Flowers
Jackie Flowers was a 6’2″ 195 lbs wide receiver out of Jacksonville, FL. Flowers had very solid seasons as a junior and senior that led to him being named an Honorable Mention All-American by the AP and The Sporting News in both ’78 and ’79. Flowers had six 100+ yard games over that two year span.

Mike Shumann
Mike Shumann was a 6’0″ 170 lbs wide receiver out of Tallahassee, FL. Shumann was a consistent receiving threat for the Noles topping out with 43 receptions in 1974, but increasing his yardage in ’75 and ’77 with 700+ yards in each of those last two seasons. He had four 100+ yard games in his career including his last regular season game against Florida when he finished with 5 catches for 111 yards. Shumann was elected into the FSU Hall of Fame in 1991. He was signed as a Free Agent in 1978 by the San Francisco 49ers and spend 6 yeas in the NFL with 3 different teams.

Barry Smith
Barry Smith was a 6’1″ 185 lbs wide receiver out of Miami, FL. Smith had a good sophomore season where he made the most of his receptions averaging an eye popping 26.6 yards per catch and scoring 6 touchdowns on just just 17 receptions. He followed that up with a very solid season as a junior before just exploding as a senior. That year he enjoyed one of the great single seasons in FSU history. Smith had 100+ yard games in 8 of the 10 games he played and had three double digit reception games including a 10 catch 158 yard performance against Florida. He was named to multiple 1st and 2nd Team All-American teams in 1972 and was elected into the FSU Hall of Fame in 1979. He was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the 1st Round of the 1973 NFL Draft and spent 4 seasons playing with the Packers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Kurt Unglaub
Kurt Unlgaub was a 5’11” 175 lbs wide receiver out of Tallahassee, FL. Unglaub jumped in and immediately made an impact at Florida State being named a 2nd Team Freshman All-American as he led the team in receiving. Unfortunately, injuries made sure that his freshman year would be the peak of his impact at Florida State. He played in just five games in ’77, eight games in ’78, one game in ’79 and six games in 1980.
