Chip Ferguson
Chip Ferguson was a 6’1″ 194 lbs quarterback out of Charlotte, NC.  As a freshman in 1985, Ferguson came off the bench early on in the year to engineer some come from behind victories, before being named the starter toward the end of the season.  For his efforts he was named a 2nd Team Freshman All-American.  In ’86 and ’87, he played sparingly behind Danny McManus, who had cemented himself as the starting quarterback.  He bounced back to have a very strong senior campaign in helping lead the Noles to an 11-1 record and #3 ranking and was named an Honorable Mention All-American by the AP and UPI.

Danny McManus
Danny McManus was a 6’1″ 199 lbs quarterback out of Hollywood, FL.  McManus was at the helm for the first season of the “Dynasty Period” in 1987 and helped guide FSU to an 11-1 record and #2 ranking with the only loss coming to #1 Miami.  He went out with a bang in the 1988 Fiesta Bowl with 375 yards passing and 3 touchdowns and leading Noles on a 97 yard game winning touchdown in the closing moments with a 15 yard touchdown pass on 4th and goal.  He was elected to the FSU Hall of Fame in 1995 and went on to become the most prolific passer in Canadian Football League history.

Rick Stockstill
Rick Stockstill was a 6’1″ 185 lbs quarterback out of Fernandina Beach, FL.  Stockstill was a 2 year starter for the Noles and helped lead Florida State to a 10-2 record and #5 final ranking in 1980.  It was a 1980 season that saw two of FSU’s greatest all-time victories over Nebraska and Pittsburgh in back to back weeks.

Peter Tom Willis
Peter Tom Willis was a 6’3″ 202 lbs quarterback out of Morris, AL.  Willis only saw one season with extensive time under center, but what a season it was.  Willis set nearly every single season passing record for the Noles in 1989 and finished with 5 career passing records as well.  To this day, Willis’s name is littered throughout the FSU record book and his single game, 6 touchdown performance still stands as the best ever (though it has been tied once).  After his fantastic season, Willis was selected in the 3rd Round of the 1990 NFL Draft and spent 4 years with the Chicago Bears earning 3 starts.   ‘PT’ Willis was elected to the FSU Hall of Fame in 1998.
