Ronald Darby is a 5’11″ 190 lbs cornerback out of Oxon Hill, MD.   Darby enters his sophomore season after having a very promising start to his career as a freshman in 2012.  He had the ability to come in and immediately win time in the defensive backfield splitting snaps with Nick Waisome all season.  Darby played in all 14 games last season and tied for the team lead with 8 pass breakups.  He also had 22 tackles on the season, all but 4 of which were solo tackles.   For his efforts, Darby was named the ACC Freshman Defensive Player of the Year and made Freshman All-American.   He has been slowed in the offseason after surgery and enters the season 2nd on the depth chart behind P.J. Williams.  He will still be on the field a good bit and, as he continues to get to 100%, should see his snaps increase.
