#12 – Jarred “Scooter” Haggins
Jarred Haggins is a 6’0″ 193 lbs wide receiver out of Lakeland, FL. Haggins will most likely miss the entirety of senior season in 2013 with a knee injury suffered during fall camp. In the previous two season, Haggins had shown ability, but often had trouble getting onto the field due to injury or a crowded wide receiver rotation. As a sophomore in 2011 he was playing very well, but suffered a hand injury making a spectacular diving catch against Oklahoma. He missed several games that season and finished with 11 catches for 94 yards. Last season, despite playing in 13 games, Haggins had a difficult time getting passes thrown his way and he caught only 8 passes on the season for 108 yards. He does have a redshirt year available and will hopefully return next season for the Noles.
#12 – Matthew Thomas
Matthew Thomas is a 6’3″ 210 lbs linebacker out of Miami, FL. Considered the crown jewel of the 2013 FSU recruiting class, Thomas has outstanding ability combining size, speed, strength, and athleticism. He was a consensus 5 star recruit and was rated as the top 2 or 3 outside linebackers in the nation in the 2013 recruiting cycle. While FSU often uses young linebackers on special teams, Thomas has a chance to make an impact on defense this season in addition to special teams.
Kelly Lowrey
Kelly Lowery was a 6’1″ 225 lbs quarterback out of Lake City, FL. Lowrey was a 3 year letterman and 2 year starter from 1979-83. As a redshirt junior in 1982, Lowrey took over starting duties in the 3rd game of the season spent the majority of the season in that role. He finished the year with 1,671 yards passing while completing 113 of 217 passes with 11 touchdowns leading the team in each category. In 1983 he again lead the Seminoles in all passing categories completing 131 out of 233 passes for 1,720 yards and 12 touchdowns. Lowrey had the only 300 yard passing game of his career in the opener that season against East Carolina with 322 yards and 3 touchdowns.
